“Share an experience in your life that you have never told anyone till now,”was the question put forth by Prof Dr Bishwanbher Pyakuryal for the top five finalists of Miss Nepal 2009.” The one incident that I have not shared with anyone till date will have to be that, when I was selected to play the lead character of Eliza Doolittle in the school play My Fair Lady but was replaced in the last moment and I cried myself to sleep. But that taught me to stand back every time I fall,” eas the answer that Zenisha Moktan gave that fetched her the title of the newly crowned Fem Miss Nepal 2009.
Moktan will be representing Nepal in the Miss World pageant. The First runner up was Hricha Thapa Magar who will be representing Nepal in Miss Earth, Kun-chhang Moktan Tamang was declared second runner up.
It was an interesting event that led to the final selection. Miss Nepal with Malvika Subba and Prasan Syangden were the emcees. The evening started with all the 15 girls dredded in traditional attires of different ethnic groups presenting a well co-ordinated dance sequence. It was followed by the introduction round. Then it wa Preeti Kaur’s performance, two of her brand new songsthat entertained the audience. The ladies than clad in beautiful glittering sarees walked onstage, it was also the time to announce the 10 semi-finalists. The top 10 were then asked a question each by the judges. As a refresher another performance – Action painting was presented by Milan Rai and Manisha KC. Finally it was time for the fianl round for which Auyusha Karki, Hricha Thapa Magar, Ritu Shakya, Kunchhang Moktan Tamang and Zenisha Moktan were selected. The event was held at Army Officer’s Club, on September 24. The event was organised by Hidden Treasure in aid of JCI Kathmandu Nepal.
